FOUNDATION AND YEARS 90
quality fish and seafood
It seems that it was yesterday when, in 1987, Maresmar was born in the Maresme region. In Arenys de Mar, a municipality with deep fishing roots, with the illusion and vertigo of a great step.
Only six years later we inaugurated the Cestárea de Marisco and Bivalvos Wastewater Treatment Plant in Europe’s largest closed circuit. In 1995 we opened our space in the Mercat Central de Peix in Barcelona and, a year later, we incorporated the Commercial Area of Frozen.
FIRST DECADE OF THE 21ST CENTURY
Seafood and fishbased food: we grow even more
Maresmar was immersed in an unstoppable growth, especially with the start of Calidade !, a new Bivalvos Water Treatment Plant in Galicia; the acquisition of Scottish Scot Wast Seafoods, with production plants in the rich islands of Skye, Harris and Uist; and the launch of a line of excellent products made with fish and seafood.
MARESMAR SINCE 2010
In these years we have continued with a strong inertia of development. We highlight milestones such as the expansion of our presence in the Mercat de Peix, the creation of the Vikingmar company in Denmark and exports in China.
Our trajectory reflects the perseverance and tenacious work of Maresmar for always offering the highest quality and its great capacity to adapt and strengthen itself with the changes of the market and society.
